I think your point-last thesis structure makes sense, after all. However "putting one's self on the line" is an over-used idiom, and as a metaphor, seems to relate to the grid-iron courage you seek to displace with the more Christic/self-less courage you promote in this definition. This dampens the effect of your conclusion.
