I feel this would be a great addition to the slew of words already defined. Sort of like the cherry to top off that great chocolate sundae. Hate in my opinion is such a strong and bold word. People tend to use it so loosely when they could use something with a lesser impact to describe their dislike. To hate, you have to completely loathe something or utterly despise it. Can you honestly say that you despise others? I'd say no, you do not. But it seems human nature is to describe something or someone you simply dislike or rather not associate with on a regular basis as a target of extreme hate.

So many events in past history have caused this word to be used so frequently with little care. It slips out of everyone's mouth at least once a day in the wrong context. People are no longer careful about saying it, but don't you think that even it too could be a little discriminatory? I mean, I even see little kids using it. For instance, when I use to volunteer with a pre-kindergarten class at an elementary school close to home, one of the little girls smacked another on the back rather hard. When asked why she did that, she responded "because I hate her hair." Yes, you did read that right, she hated her because of her hair. Hate hurts, and it should be a word we creep around, similar to many racial slurs.

Hate is most often defined as:

1. to dislike intensely or passionately; feel extreme aversion for or extreme hostility toward; detest: to hate the enemy; to hate bigotry.

2. to be unwilling; dislike: I hate to do it.

–verb (used without object)

3. to feel intense dislike, or extreme aversion or hostility.

4. intense dislike; extreme aversion or hostility.

5. the object of extreme aversion or hostility.

For Example:

"Jeeze, I really hate that kid. All he does is just sit around in class and do nothing. Does he really think that he'll pass like that? Ugh."

See that word? That could easily be replaced with: Lazy, dislike, don't want to associate, and many other phrase replacements. Not only that, you'd be using the suggested ones in a better context, compared to hate.

I don't believe anything, not a thing on this planet deserves to really be hated. I dislike roaches but I don't say I hate them. They deserve a place in the chaos of everyday too. So I urge people that if they can't find in their heart to love, that they simply announce things in a better manner.
