In our opinion we should sbsolutely educate our youths about guns and gun safety. It was stated in class that the only thing worse than a criminal with a gun is an untrained criminal with a gun. Accidents happen and innocent people get hurt because of people not knowing how to use them correctly. If a criminal is untrained and uneducated on how to use a gun, they can be lethal and very dangerous. The outcome of a situaion like that could possibly be a potential disaster. Kids and parents alike should both be educated on the possible disasters that could occur if guns are misused or treated like toys. The fact is guns don't kill people, stupid people kill people. Ian stated in class most gun related crimes take place in communitities were the guns are illegally obtained. If someone wants to own a gun they should have to take a firearms safety and usage class were they can be properly educated about the risks owning a guns.

It's obvious that a person who desires to own a gun will find a way to get their hands on one legally or illegally. If there were a system setup were people had to learn and be properly educated about how to use a gun through a course or class. It would probably help gun accidents decline. As more guns become available to the public, the more reason why people should be educated about this problem. If you own a gun it doesn't have to be because you the intent to cause harm to someone. Some poeple might be gun collectors, or they might go hunting as sport. All the same they should still be taught on safe firearm handling, how to accurately fire a weapon, and lastly how to properly store a firearm. We believe if people would take the time to learn these skills it won't be such a risk to the community.
