Hey, I just wanted to say that I used to play soccer, and I've gotten back into the sport, again--but this time, as a coach. I'm coaching my son Aeden's team, the U-8 SYSL Fire Hawks. Games and practices take place at the Lakewood Sports Complex, which is nestled snug up against Boyd Hill, one of my favorite places.

That is awesome! I played competatively for like 8 years. I miss all the travelling and competition. I wish that there was an older team that I could join. When I get older I hope to be a coach for a soccer team. I used to play for St. Pete. High. We were so good!! My junior year we made it to states for the first time, it was so exciting!! I wish I could go back to that time.

Haha, I played soccer. Always sweeper position. Northeast unfortunately wasn't as darn lucky as St. Pete. You got all the club players! Grrr. Good fun though, a lot of memories from the bus.

Bus memories are the best! I had some friends that were on the Northeast team, did you know Kristen Terns and Racheal White?? Mr. Terns was the coach for a couple of years. I love him! He was my club coach for a couple of years. I miss him alot.

Yeah! I knew them both. Kristen was such a sweetie. =) I stayed for one year with Terns, and then I wanted to just focus on my academics last year. Coach Dotter was my favorite, always so goofy. I knew Terns had prior experience I could tell from the drills but I guessed I might of zoned out or didn't listen when he told us he originally did club.

The Fire Hawks played a tough game this morning, against the Storm, who are the best team in the league. The Storm came back on us at the very end, but I'm almost glad we lost. Cathartic temper tantrums (3 players) provided opportunities to teach patience, and to situate the game of soccer in a bigger picture. This gave a few players that usually don't lead a chance to model good sportsmanship and the like.

I love seeing Ksaun and Sara Jane making connections, here. Come on everybody, join us, jump in!
